Today I saw my husband, Dr. Essam Al-Haddad, in the court during his hearing and learned that since he was transferred to Leiman Hospital. He has been imprisoned in a solitary cell completely for 24 hours without any break, exercise time, or access to sunlight.

Gehad Al-Haddad has been experiencing dizziness, followed by shortness of breath, numbness, tingling in the limbs, cramps in the hands and feet and a complete loss of consciousness. Essam initiated a hunger strike in November of 2017 as a form of protest. He wanted the following basic demands met:
weekly one hour long family visits with no glass barriers;
improving the quantity and quality of the food;
allowing packages into the prison;
